Connecticut, Southern Pines. One hour prior to performances, we also sell tickets at the door (cash/check/credit cards) for that day's concert, as available, as well as for future performances.

As part of the popular Behind the Music Series, Maestro David Michael Wolff presents a piano recital of Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Beethoven coinciding with the release of his book, Zen and the Art of Piano.

A new tradition continues: The Pinehurst Jazz Festival returns to the Cardinal Ballroom this Summer, featuring a dozen jazz artists from around the country.  Three completely different and riveting performances: July 19, 7pm, and July 20, 3pm and 8pm.

                                                            The Carolina Hotel’s Cardinal Ballroom

Celebrating our fifth year, this Gala will be special.  Join us for cocktails, dinner, auction and music as we raise funds to support the Philharmonic’s exciting and impactful education programs, such as our free junior orchestra, and our Link Up program, in partnership with Carnegie Hall.

Owens Auditorium, Sandhills Community College

First-prize winner of numerous international competitions, including the prestigious Jascha Heifetz competition, 19-yr-old Mayumi Kanagawa is a major emerging talent who plays directly to the heart.  The Japanese-American virtuoso will offer the most popular and romantic work in the repertoire, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.  Also on the program are Grofe’s picturesque Grand Canyon Suite and Gershwin’s exotically rhythmic Cuban Overture.  Join us for this incredibly high-energy launch to our most exceptional season yet.

Every year on the eve of Thanksgiving, The Carolina Hotel, freshly decked out in holiday spirit, kicks off the Sandhills’ holiday season with an Orchestra Pops concert.  This year will feature a musical retelling of “The Night Before Christmas,” with surprise guest narrator.  Gather your loved ones together and yourselves in the mood for the holidays.

Our Fifth Annual presentation of Part I of Handel’s Messiah will feature David Michael Wolff leading the Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, with a stellar line-up of guest vocal soloists.

A quartet of stellar Opera divas and divos, backed up by David Michael Wolff and the Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, perform some of the most cherished arias, duets, trios and quartets from the entire operatic repertoire.  A night of lyrically high drama.

Sat., May 16, 2015, 7pm      Orchestra Pops Series Finale: An American in Paris

David Michael Wolff and the Philharmonic are joined by guest artists in classic songs and scores from the Golden Age of Film… as well as a touch of Broadway.  Topped off with Gershwin’s classic An American in Paris, never has the Philharmonic indulged in a more decadent season finale.  Don’t miss it!
